In Pennsylvania, a DUI Alcohol occurs when a person operates or is in actual physical control of the movement of a vehicle where the alcohol in their blood or breath, impairs their ability to drive safely.

General Impairment, Tier 1- 0.08%- less than 0.10%, Tier II- 0.10%- less than 0.16%, Tier III- 0.16% or higher

In Pennsylvania, a DUI Controlled Substances occurs when a person operates or is in actual physical control of the movement of a vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance (including but not limited to illegal drugs and prescription medication) to a degree that impairs safe driving.

Examples: Marijuana, Prescription Opioids, Benzodiazepines, Cocaine, Fentanyl and Methamphetamine 

In Pennsylvania, an alcohol and drug combination DUI occurs when a person operates or is in actual physical control of the movement of a vehicle while under the influence of both alcohol and a controlled substance. 

Example: THC and Alcohol

Involves illegal activities committed for monetary gain through deception, fraud, misuse and theft. These crimes include acts of fraud, identity theft, embezzlement and forgery. This also encompasses retail theft, where individuals unlawfully take merchandise for sale by a business.

Involves offenses that use or threaten the use of physical force against another person, causing or creating a risk of injury. This would include crimes of aggravated assault, strangulation, simple assault and terroristic threats.

Involves unlawful sexual conduct, exploitation, or abuse, where consent is absent or cannot be legally given. This includes crimes against adults, children, possession or distribution of child sexual abuse material, enticing or luring of children, and Megan's Law violations. 

Involves acts of cruelty, neglect, or abuse toward animals. These offenses include neglect in providing necessary food, water, shelter, or veterinary care, as well as intentionally injuring or killing an animal. 

Involves the illegal possession, use, or transfer of firearms, often in violation of both state and federal laws. This offense includes unlawful possession, carrying without a license, prohibited persons and the use of a firearm in the commission of a crime. 

Involves the unlawful possession, manufacturing, or distribution of controlled substances. This offense includes possession, possession with intent to deliver, manufacturing, and the use or possession of drug paraphernalia.  

Involves  a person's actions resulting in the loss of life. This offense includes varying levels of homicide, vehicular deaths, and drug delivery resulting in death. 

Involves a range of offenses such as crimes involving offensive weapons (brass knuckles), fleeing and eluding law enforcement, inspection stickers, criminal mischief, vandalism, and driving suspended.
